This time, we’re mixing adventure with art. Kids will embark on a scavenger hunt through our vibrant PLAY 4 exhibition, gathering colourful scraps, recycled bits, and found treasures. After the hunt, they’ll use their discoveries to create one-of-a-kind portrait collages — a perfect blend of exploration and creativity.
It's fun, free, and exciting! Come spend quality time with your tamariki, explore PLAY 4, create some art, and meet new friends!

Kids Create | After School Sessions:
Looking for a creative, free, and relaxed after-school activity for your child? Kids Create at He Waka Tuia is the perfect place for tamariki to explore their artistic side, meet new friends, and spend quality time with their parents or guardians.
Every Thursday from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM, we offer a space for children and their families to enjoy hands-on craft activities inspired by our current exhibitions. Whether they’re discovering a new hobby or getting creative with friends, there’s something for everyone. No need to book—just drop in and have fun!
Please note: Kids Create runs weekly during exhibitions and takes a short pause during changeover periods and during the school holidays.
